Located in Fenton, MI, Epic CNC Training Academy is proud to offer an affordable CNC certification program that, through hands-on training and education, empowers graduates to pursue better job opportunities.

From industry standard process procedures and machining instruction, to expert advice and tricks of the trade, Epic CNC Training Academy goes beyond basics to provide the most comprehensive CNC training and certification program available.

All of our instructors are professional CNC machinists and programmers eager to share their skills, industry knowledge and on-the-job experiences to support you in becoming a certified CNC Machinist.

Founder & Director of Epic CNC Training Academy

Mike is the President of Epic Machine, Inc. and has nearly 40 years' experience in the manufacturing industry ranging from hands-on machining to business management. Passionate about increasing interest in the manufacturing industry, Mike founded Epic CNC Training Academy; developing an 8-week CNC training and certification program to prepare CNC Machinists with the education and job-ready skills for supporting the manufacturing industry.

  • Served on the Byron Board of Education for eight years
  • Vocational adviser for several area High Schools
  • Working with the State of Michigan to develop a re-education and training program for displaced workers
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1984

Melinda is the Director of Epic CNC Training Academy and enjoys speaking to groups about manufacturing to increase the knowledge, understanding and interest in the industry. Melinda is responsible for Epic Machine's Quality Management System and all interviewing and hiring of Epic Machine employees. An advocate for learning a trade through education and hands-on training, Melinda works closely with Epic Machine's team of machinists to identify job-skills entry level machinists need in the manufacturing environment.

Journeyman Tool

Mark is currently the lead instructor at Epic CNC Training Academy. A Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, Mark started his career in this industry in 1973 as a Machinist and Machine Tool Builder. In 1981 he took a position with GM where he began his Tool and Die apprenticeship, advancing through many positions to General Supervisor for Tool and Die where he was ultimately responsible for 7 stamping lines, 4 hood assembly lines, and 16 die makers.

In 2009 Mark retired from GM and took a position as Process Engineer with Epic Machine, Inc. Mark has been instrumental in the development and success of the Epic CNC Training Academy. Applying practical experience and knowledge in the industry, Mark has been an asset in the development of the Academy's curriculum and is currently holding the position of lead instructor.

Education: 
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Management, Baker College
  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology, Lansing Community College
